Career as an Installation Artist
Merging Art and Ecology
I spent the earlier part of my career as an artist designing and creating site-specific art installations. Merging my interests in art and ecology, I created seven major art installations which were displayed in museums, galleries, and parks. I collaborated with restoration ecologists, forest managers and earth scientists on art projects designed to raise awareness of the importance of protecting and restoring native habitats and watersheds.
The experiences I had creating art through these unique collaborations with professionals in conservation, helped shaped me into the artist I am today. Below are some of the cross-disciplinary projects I completed between 1990 and 2005.
